They don’t tell him, so much as he finds out completely by mistake. They try to be careful around him, of course, not sure how he’d feel (they figure he’d want Emma to find her own Prince Charming like her mother, after all), but Ruby’s less than subtle around the full moon.

She’s worse actually on the full moon, where she’ll sneak into the apartment some time around dawn and crawl into Emma’s bed to work off the rest of her excess energy.

Prompt: Swan Queen, Regina catches Emma fixing up her bug, gets hot and bothered by Emma being a grease monkey. [gamergirloracle]

Emma’s car has always relaxed her. Driving it, cleaning it, fixing it. It’s something she bought with her own money, and so has always been determined to take care of it herself. As strange as it may seem to some, it’s always felt more like home than any of the places she lived as a child ever did.

The yellow bug hasn’t been quite the same since her accident that first night in Storybrooke. Michael offers to fix it for her, says it’s the least he can do, but she declines. He offers another three times before Emma explains that no one touches her car but her, so he simply laughs and hands over the spare set of keys to his garage.

“I’m closing up for the day, so it’ll be empty,” he explains, and Emma jumps at the chance to spend some quality time with her beloved car.

“Snow said something today.”

Henry’s words - and his tone of voice - make Emma and Regina glance at each other warily. They both stay silent for a moment, carefully placing knives and forks down on plates, until Regina clears her throat. “And what was that, dear?”

“It was about you guys,” he says. Emma sighs, leaning back in her chair. They wondered when this would happen. “She said you shouldn’t be together because you’re related.”

“She said that to you?” Regina asks, obviously trying to keep calm, despite the enraged look in her eyes.

“Well, no,” Henry shrugs, “I heard her talking to someone about it.” He looks up at them, frowning. “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with you being together. Is that weird?”

“Not at all, kid,” Emma gives him a reassuring smile and reaches over to squeeze his hand. “Snow just… doesn’t understand, is all.”

“I was married to Snow’s father once, you know that,” Regina says, and Henry nods. “But any relation was severed as soon as I-well, when her father died.”

“Good,” Henry slides out of his chair and walks around the table, hugging Regina and then Emma from behind. “I’m glad you’re not related.”

“Yeah?” Emma gives a small laugh.

“Yep. Our family’s kind of weird enough, without worrying about that, too.”
